Waiver and Release of LIABILITY

I acknowledge that there are inherent risks in participating in radio sailing at Imperial Landing, Richmond, BC including but not limited to:

1. the general risks of waterborne and waterside activity such as drowning where a participant goes on the water for boat recovery or to assist in the event

2. risks associated with use of the docks and gangway such as slipping and falling on the dock or gangway or into the water

3. risks arising from the Organizers (defined below) use of a motorized/propellor driven rescue craft that might damage participant’s craft or injure participants all of which may be increased by lack of care of the Organizers and potentially result in injury or death. Nonetheless, I agree that I am participating entirely at my own risk.

In consideration of the acceptance of my entry and participation in the 2023 Soling 1 M Canadian National Championship (“the Event”), I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive any and all rights to sue for or claim damages that I may have or acquire against the organizing group of the Event, or any of the volunteers assisting in the running of the Event, the sailing site owners and its employees, the Canadian Radio Yachting Association and the Steveston RC Sailing Club (all being “the Organizers”) for personal injury or loss from any cause whatsoever including the negligence of the Organizers (e.g. lack of care in their actions or failure to warn of known hazards) and arising out of my participation in the Event and hereby release the Organizers from any liability for such injury or loss.

By submitting this entry, the competitor confirms that they are a member in good standing of their National Authority and agrees to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing and accepts the rules and conditions as they appear on the NOR for this event and agree with the above Waiver and Release and acknowledge that I am GIVING UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS as detailed above.
