In consideration of the acceptance of my application for membership in the Steveston RC Sailing Club (“the Club”), I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, irrevocably waive any and all rights to sue for or claim damages that I may have or acquire against the Club, or any of the directors or officers of the Club (all being “the Releasees”) for any personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property that I may suffer from any cause whatsoever, including the negligence of the Releasees (including lack of care in their actions or failure to warn of known hazards) that arises out of, results from, or occurs during my participation in any event organized or sponsored by the Club, and I hereby release the Releasees from any liability for such injury or loss.
Furthermore, I acknowledge that there are inherent risks in participating in radio sailing including but not limited to, the general risks of waterborne activity such as drowning or hypothermia as a result of a participant slipping or falling into the water, or being knocked into the water by another competitor or spectator, or going onto the water for boat recovery or to assist in the event, and all risks associated with difficult terrain at an event site such as slipping on slippery docks and wharves, shoreline rocks, and any risks associated with race management such as the heaving of marks and tackle all of which may be increased by lack of care of the Releasees and potentially result in injury or death or damage to property. I agree that I participate in any Club event entirely at my own risk.
